Date: 18 Sep 2003 This is a Region *NoticeToAirMen* to all members of VATSIM Europe Region. 1 - EUROBOOK, your ATC preview tool We have all waited a long time for this to be realized. EUROBOOK is a new centralized ATC Booking System open to anyone. ATCs input data, pilots read data. The principle is quite simple: announce your anticipated ATC presence via your local (vACC/ARTCC) booking system and everybody will be able to see this booking via, a) the latest version of ServInfo or via browser at, b)http://www.geardown.de/EUbooking/active.asp c)the local vACC/ARTCC homepage. It is ESSENTIAL that everybody takes part in this project by announcing his or her *anticipated* presence by using the local ATC booking systems. Pilots will now have the possibility to plan flights more reliably as they can now check for planned ATC coverage for any time within the next seven days. One of the major updates of *just released ServInfo* (2.01) is that it displays "Eurobook" data in the third network button as if it were a 3rd network. Visit http://www.avsim.com/hangar/utils/servinfo/ and download the update. For further information on the project visit http://www.geardown.de/EUbooking/active.asp and check the detailed documentation about EUROBOOK that we have prepared in as many languages as we could. We wish that this project will be a success and don't forget that you, the users, are as well responsible for it ! Use the system seriously to make it a useful tool for everyone. Many thanks again to everybody involved in the project. It was a real pleasure to work with ALL European vACC's, Seattle ARTCC and VATSIM Israel Division and hopefully we will soon have to rename EUROBOOK into VATBOOK ! Dirk Trinkaus, Andreas Fuchs SAGvACC 2- Eurocenter vACC, ATC in Europe's upper levels Europe Division announces Eurocenter VACC (EUC VACC), a group dedicated to perform ATC and have responsibilities only for Europe's Upper Information Regions (UIRs), covering a rather vast area. Its controllers are in charge of the UIR (FL245 & above) only when local CTR is *not* online. For more information on this new vACC and the requirements to join it as visitor ATCO visit its homepage at http://www.euc-vacc.org/ . EUCvACC is "Eurobook" compatible ! 3 - New procedures in Poland Poland vACC informed us that new SID/STAR for EPWA (Warsaw- Okecie) are in use. Starting from 20th Sept. 2003 these procedures are mandatory, including speed restrictions and new descend planning rules. All required charts are available at http://www.pl-vacc.org in Files->Maps section. Please download also AIRAC0308 or later from http://www.navtada.at before flying to Warsaw. Without this AIRAC your FMC/flight planning utillity will not show new waypoints, used in SID/STARS. Also, "Procedural approach" control has been introduced in some local polish airports (EPWA exluded). Please check ATIS text about where ATC will inform you about procedural control in use and ensure you are capable to execute a procedural approach (without radar vectors).Check http://www.plvacc.org/eng/downloads/simplified.pdf for guidelines to procedural approaches. 4 - OneSky3, Europe on line Well Richard Jenkin's VATSIM NOTAM told you all about it two days ago. Don't miss VATSIM's largest event that evening. More information in the event's website : http://vatsim-eur.org/onesky3.htm Regards, Kyprianos Biris VATEUR1 http://vatsim-eur.org
