VATSIM Notice to Airmen (NOTAM)

This is a Region *NoticeToAirMen* to all members of VATSIM Europe 
Region.

1 - New Scandinavia vACC
As Nicklas Jansson informed us, in a big joint move Denmark, 
Norway and Sweden vACCs joined their resources to create one 
merged "Scandinavia vACC". The new website will be ready in few 
days at http://www.vaccsca.org where, right now, you can access 
the vACC's forum. The three countries have set up a big openning 
Fly In this coming Sunday (March 14th). Read more about it in the 
event page http://ehalvor.net/vaccsca/main.htm . Our best wishes
to this newly formed vACC.

2-  AVC & change of port settings 3782 -> 3290
In case you have not noticed, VATSIM's Voice client  AVC has 
changed port of communication. If you are behind a firewall or a 
NAT router and need to forward ports this is for you then. 
RogerWilco uses port 3782 and this was the intial setting for 
AVC. ALL VATSIM voice related software will use port 3290 in the 
future and this latest change reflects just that. Please make
sure that you are not blocking port 3290 communication with 
firewalls etc. You may not hear others on your channel or loose 
reception after a while if this port is blocked. For more

Remember, if you are still using RogerWilco, you are most 
propably creating problems in the channel (especially if not set 
to SLOW MODEM), not to forget that you are not heard in the same 
level (too low or too high usually) as all AVC users do. Please 
update software !

3 - VATEUD update of Policy
VATEUD have updated their policy with article § 12.
It is related with flights to/from Northern part of Cyprus.

4 - Do not forget EUROBOOK !
Do not forget what EUROBOOK has to offer you. If your vACC 
already has it, then please use it; ATCOs to book via vACC
webpage and pilots to read via ServInfo or vACC webpage. If your 
vACC does not have it, please visit 
http://www.geardown.de/EUbooking/active.asp and read all about it 
as well as how easy it is to set it up.

5 - VATSIM Pilot Resource Center
New pilots; do not forget that the VATSIM PRC is *for you* and it 
contains all the information you may need to start in VATSIM. 
Visit http://vatsim.net/prc to access this rich database of 
information you need.

6 - SquawkBox3 goes Alpha
As Joel De Young informs us in the SB3 forum the software goes to 
first phase of testing. Then its off to beta testers. Read more
