VATSIM-EUR NOTAM Region NOTAM #2

For those who receive email first time from this NOTAM list, welcome !

Only important announcements will be made from here when needed.
It is the "VATSIM Europe Region" NOTAM (announcements only) list
which includes the three Divisions of our Region : Europe, UK and Russian
Federation.

1. New Deputy Region Director
---------------------------------
I would like to welcome Phil Dowling as Deputy Region Director VAT-EUR2.
He is a talented and experienced member of our community bringing along his
knowledge from the past, following his SATUK and SATCO HQ important work.
I am honored to have him in our team.


2. Broder in the BoG
-------------------------
Broder Illing, exSATEUR1, has joined the VATSIM Board of Governors as VP
Communications, VATGOV7.
We are all really happy to have Broder in the BoG in such an important role
for the Network.
Welldone boss ;-)


3. Region & Division Policy
-----------------------------
Our Policy is online and affects ALL members of our VATSIM Region.
Please DO read it. By connecting to this network you abide by it's contents.
Also for Detailed DIVISION Policy please visit our three Division's
websites.
(Europe for the moment maintains same website)
It is IMPORTANT that you , the members, are well aware of this Policy.
For example, in EUR Division the first "Restrictive Rating" is along its way
from the beginning of year 2002.


4. VATSIM-EUR Division Vacancies

EUR Division still has important staff vacancies.
Please visit the "Requirements" subpage in the "Staff" section and if you
are interested for one of them and feel that you comply with the
prerequisites, by all means, please DO contact us !


5. VATSIM-EUR Division website
------------------------------------
The website of this Division is still under construction while we sort out
webmaster duties and therefore some information is condensed and not as
nicelly presented as it should.


6. Division Selection
---------------------
Please read further down the contents of our First NOTAM sent out on
September 2nd. Many members face problems in their ID upgrade because they
have not done the simple procedure described below.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

In order to enable sorting of our Region members a new procedure is
on line at VATSIM.

Go to :  http://vatsim.net -> ID Maintenance -> Select your Division
in our Region. Our REGION is "Europe" but you HAVE to choose your
DIVISION of either :

1. Europe (exc. UK)
2. UK or
3. Russia

Please do this as soon as possible since it will enable us to start
ATC Upgrades & Membership procedures.

It takes 5 seconds and you will need your VATSIM ID & Password to
proceed. (NOT your SATCO ID)

7. Member Statistics
----------------------
The on line member's activity statistics are now available thanks to
talented Roberto Bazzano's hands.
Do check out this amazing feature unique to VATSIM and monitor your online
virtual career. Navigate through http://vatsim.net -> Network Page

8. Yahoogroups Settings
--------------------------
In this list you are added based on email you have in VATSIM membership
details.
It is updated EACH time a NOTAM is to be sent regardless of personnal
delivery preferences.
